Membership Application Guidelines
The Salt Lake Gallery Association (SLGA) is a partnership of
independently owned and operated art galleries, visual arts-related
businesses and sponsors, created to provide a unified voice on
issues of mutual concern within the local visual arts community.
The SLGA strives to advance standards of artistic excellence,
raise public awareness and stimulate growth in the visual arts
industry in Salt Lake City.

Members are selected for their individual contributions to the
cultural life of Salt Lake City and adherence to ethical and lawful
business practices.
The SLGA is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit organization with two different
categories of professional membership:
- Gallery: a full-service gallery or art center where the display
or sale of artwork is the primary purpose and function of the
organization.
- Visual Arts-Related Business: The organization maintains a
designated gallery within the place of business where the display
or sale of artwork is the primary purpose and function (i.e.
design firm, bookstore, theatre, etc.).
Your organization/business must be open for 12 months prior
to application to the SLGA. Members of the SLGA examine your application
and vote on your acceptance at quarterly member meetings. All
SLGA applicants must comply with local business standards and
must display a current business license.
Once accepted, the SLGA requires an annual membership fee of
$300.00. The membership cycle begins September 1st. Your fee will
be prorated depending on what month your organization is received
into the SLGA. Membership benefits include:
- Full-color ad in Gallery Guide Brochure (printed annually
in the summer).
- Monthly listing in connection with the Salt Lake Gallery Stroll.
- Advertisement on the SLGA website (including link to your
gallery’s site).
- SLGA membership sticker for your organization’s storefront.
- Specialized advertising with other media as funds and opportunities
allow.
